.edge - Ordering Information
This topic lists the part numbers for .edge. You will need these to specify a new system, expand an existing system or order replacement parts.
Please note: Each processing blade supports a number of options that are unlocked using software licenses. Customers can choose whether to use perpetual licenses (for permanent availability) and/or Lawo Flex credits (that are subscription based). How this works is described in .edge - Licensed Feature Sets. In this topic, we include the part numbers for the perpetual licenses.
When specifying a new system, please use the following steps:
- Choose a frame variant - to order a frame with either AC or DC power supplies and a rack-mounting kit.
- Add up to 4 x .edge_gateway - to populate the frame. Each .edge_gateway includes 1 x processing blade + 1 x rear I/O plate + 1 x .edge_sdi_inc license (for 16 x SDI).
- Add the required software licenses - to unlock the licensed options (for each blade).
- Don't forget to add optical transceivers - to use the network ports (on each blade).
Alternatively, you can choose one of the hardware and software bundles to order a complete multi-frame package.
To expand a partially-fitted frame, use .edge_gateway (to include the processing blade, rear I/O plate and 1 x SDI_inc license).

Frame Variants
The frame variants specify the type of power supplies and rack-mounting kit. The frame comes with four empty slots, front and rear. The processing blade(s) and rear I/O plate(s) must be ordered separately using .edge gateway.

.edge Gateway
.edge_gateway(s) can be ordered to populate the frame. Each gateway includes a processing blade, rear I/O plate and perpetual software license for 16 x SDI.

Please note: The software license included with .edge_gateway is a perpetual license that is locked to a specific processing blade. This provides a baseline functionality that is permanent (for 16 x SDI).
The additional SDI interfacing (on the rear I/O plate) can be unlocked in one of three ways:
- Add more .edge_sdi perpetual licenses (up to 2 per blade),
- Use credits (from a Lawo Flex subscription),
- Add 1 x .edge_sdi perpetual license + top-up with credits.

Software Licenses
The part numbers shown below (in the License column) can be used to order additional perpetual licenses (for each blade).
Note that every .edge_gateway includes 1 x .edge_sdi_inc license (for 16 x SDI).
It is important to consider the operating mode of each blade before ordering your licenses (as not all licensed options are supported by all FPGA modes).
Remember that each licensed option can also be unlocked using an equivalent amount of credits, providing that the system meets the Lawo Flex conditions.

Perpetual licenses are locked to a specific processing blade and so you will need to supply the correct serial number(s) with your order.
- The Serial Number for a blade can be found in HOME's General tab or on the Identity page (in the Advanced parameters).
- To obtain a new license for an existing system, please create a license request via our Service Portal. Further information can be found here.
The following license bundle is also available to unlock the 100G operation, additional SDI interfacing, video gearboxing and input frame sync for a blade.

Optical Transceivers
To use the network interfaces on a processing blade, you must fit a Lawo-certified optical transceiver. The optical transceiver determines the cable type, maximum distance and connector.

Bundles
The hardware and software bundles can be used to order a complete multi-frame package. The optical transceivers are not included (and must be ordered separately).
Each bundle is a complete multi-frame system, with a HOME server cluster.
- The HOME cluster license supports up to 50 devices.
- The .edge_gateway includes: 1 x .edge processing blade + 1 x rear I/O plate + 1 x .edge_sdi_inc license (for 16 x SDI).
*The number of crosspoints is specified for SD and HD operation (at 25G).
