Tabletop frames should be mounted on a flat, horizontal surface.
Countersunk frames are designed to fit flush within your studio furniture:
- The frame has rounded-off edges so that it will fit smoothly into holes cut by a wood milling machine.
- All cables can be hidden in the cable tray and connected to the console inlets from the open underside of the tray.
- All countersunk frames have flat side parts without edges. Therefore, the installer must provide some kind of support onto which the surface will rest.
- Please refer to the mechanical drawing for the frame variant for details.
In both cases, all plug-in connectors are located on the frame's connector board* and at the rear of the Virtual Extension displays. When installing, please leave enough room for the cables (and sufficient airflow around the frame for cooling).
* The position of the frame's connector board can be specified at the time of order (as described earlier).
The external connections for the surface are described in diamond - Wiring. In particular, each diamond frame must be properly grounded.
For Virtual Extension frames, the VX modules are shipped separately. They must be mounted into the frame before the frame is installed/connected. See diamond - Mounting the VX Modules.
Airflow Requirements
The control surface is designed for normal studio installation and needs no special air conditioning. You must make sure that there is sufficient airflow around the frame for cooling.
Power Consumption and Electrical Voltage
See diamond - Power Supplies.
Dimensions and Weight
The dimensions and weight of each frame vary depending on its size and specification.
Mechanical drawings for all frame variants are available from the
Lawo Download-Center (after login). Use the following part numbers to help locate the correct drawings:
- 711/50-0x.yy = standard frame.
- 711/51-0x.yy = extended frame.
- 711/60-0x.yy = standard frame with Virtual Extension.
- 711/61-0x.yy = extended frame with Virtual Extension.
x = the module width, from 1 to 8 ME.
yy = the frame version, either 10 for tabletop or 20 for countersunk.
