This topic describes how to transfer credits from a Lawo Flex account to a HOME system.

It is assumed that you have connected the HOME system to your Lawo Flex account (as described earlier), and have at least one active subscription.

Overview

To start or activate a licensed resource in HOME, the HOME system must have enough perpetual licenses and/or valid credits.

Credits are transferred from your Lawo Flex account to HOME using the licensing portal. This can be done in one of two ways, depending on whether HOME has an online connection to the licensing cloud.

  • If HOME is online, then the transfer can be made directly from your Lawo Flex account (via the cloud). This method is recommended, where possible.
  • If HOME is not online, then the transfer must be made manually (via a file download and upload).

In each case, once credits are transferred to the HOME system, they can be used to activate a licensed resource. This final part of the process is described in Lawo Flex - Activate the Resource(s) in HOME

Please note:

  • Credits can be assigned from any active subscription.
  • When you make an assignment of credits, this can be done either permanently or on a temporary basis (by scheduling an Auto Revoke).
  • Credits can be assigned to any of the HOME systems that are linked to your Lawo Flex account.
  • The Revoke process can be used to remove an existing assignment and move credits back to the original subscription. This allows the credits to be assigned again (e.g. to a different HOME system).

Check the Online Status

Start by opening the Systems page in the licensing portal and click on the system label (to open the system details). From here you can check the online status of the HOME system and view any credits that are assigned.

If you need to return to the main Systems page (to interrogate another system), then click on the < Systems button (to the left of the system label).

The online status of the HOME system is displayed beside the system label.

Assign Credits to an Online System

If the HOME system is Online, then credits can be transferred directly from your Lawo Flex account with immediate affect. This method is recommended, where possible.

1.    Open the Systems page in the licensing portal and click on the system label (to open the system details).

2.    Choose a subscription.

  • Click on Add to open the "Add Credits" dialog.
  • Select an active subscription (using the radio buttons on the left).
  • Click Next to continue.

Credits can be assigned from any active subscription. If a subscription is present in your account but not active, then it appears in the list but cannot be selected.

A yellow warning beside the subscription TYPE (STATE) column indicates that a subscription has been cancelled but remains active. This can be selected, but bear in mind that these credits will expire once the subscription end date is reached.

3.    Enter the number of credits.

At the next dialog, you will see information about the subscription: the number of credits remaining and subscription type (Monthly, Annual, etc.)

  • Enter the number of credits you wish to assign, either by typing in a number or clicking on the up/down arrows.
  • To make a permanent assignment, leave the Auto Revoke option disabled. (This option can be used to make a temporary assignment of credits, as described later).
  • Click Add Credits to complete the operation.

4.    The credits are transferred to the HOME system, and the system details page updates.

There should be a tick in the "Downloaded" column to show that the credits have left the account via the portal. This happens automatically when you make an online transfer.

5.   Repeat these steps to assign more credits (as required).

The credits can now be utilized in the HOME system (as described in the next topic).

For more information about how to manage credits, see Lawo Flex - Managing Credits.

Assign Credits if System is Disconnected

If the HOME system is disconnected from the licensing cloud, then it is not possible to transfer the credits directly. In this instance, you will need to transfer the credits manually by downloading the credits to a file (from the portal) and then uploading the file into HOME.

1.    Start by adding the credits to the HOME system (as described in steps 1 to 3 above).

Notice that when the credits are added, the "Downloaded" column is not ticked. This shows that the credits have not yet left the account via the portal, and can be revoked without any extra steps.

2.    Click on the Download button to start the download.

The credit assignments are downloaded to a JWT (Json web token) file on your computer, and the "Downloaded" column updates.

3.    Copy the file to the HOME server and upload it to HOME's FileLicenses page.

4.    Once the upload is complete, the credits should appear in HOME's Licenses → Credits page.

Please note: To revoke "Downloaded" credits from a disconnected system, requires a Revoke key to be copied and pasted from the HOME system. This is explained in more detail here.
