Editing the System Registry incorrectly can cause serious issues that may require you to reinstall the operating system. We cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of the Registry Editor can be solved. Use the Registry Editor at your own risk.

When self monitoring is enabled, the vsmStudio will detect unexpected behavior within the application.

To enable the Self Monitoring Mode the respective registry key has to be created as String Value and its Data value set as described below.

In the Registry Editor, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VirtualStudioManager\vsmStudio\Settings

Depending on the selected mode the vsmStudio will perform the following actions when an irregularity is detected:

  • Report - Logs the event
  • Dump - Logs the event and creates an application dump
  • Restart - Logs the event, creates an application dump and initializes a program restart.
The Restart mode will only work if the vsmStudio is running in Application Monitoring mode (see "Enabling Application Monitoring"). If not, the system will behave as if Dump had been specified.
