When monitoring is enabled the vsmStudio will detect unexpected application terminations, in which case and the following dialog will show:

To enable the application monitoring the “Monitor” registry key first has to be created as a new String Value and its Data value set to True as shown below.

In the Registry Editor, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VirtualStudioManager\vsmStudio\Settings

The vsmStudio may be started with the “–NoMonitor” command line attribute to override the “Monitor” registry key.

While Monitoring is active, when viewing the Task Manager a second vsmStudio instance will appear under Background processes. The Monitoring process vsmStudio uses the smaller amount of handles. Performing an “End Process Tree” on the Monitoring process will end both instances.
