The vsmStudio uses a “Reflect Identifier” to place and identify the gadgets of a particular device in the gadget directory. The reflect identifier should be unique for each individual device so that both user and system can reliable locate each gadget.

The vsmStudio creates a default “Reflect Identifier” based on the connection.

Example for a reflection identifier:

“Lawo 192.168.16.150:55555”

In some cases this identifier must be changed. This is the case when multiple different connections point to the same hardware with the same gadgets. If the identifiers differ in this case two sets of gadgets will be created one for each connection using the default “reflect identifier”. Depending on the amount of gadgets involved or the actual use of the gadgets this can lead to both unexpected and undesirable effects.

It is essential that if two connections refer to the same hardware that these connections share the same “reflect identifier” unique to that hardware.

To add a “reflect identifier” you need to make changes to the registry.
