Configuration Details
Create the desired Communication Port (1) via the Manage Communication Ports view.
Start the setup of the desired Communication Port (1). Proceed with Next (2).
Proceed with New Port (1).
Set a Description name (1), Type of Port (2), Remote IP Address of the device (3) and the respective Control Port ID. The Port ID may be defined on the device side, set the Port number accordingly in vsmStudio (4). Proceed with OK (5).
In the following window, select the respective Port entry (1) and confirm with Finish (2).
In the Port Settings view, navigate to Label Assignment (1) and assign Signalpaths to label IDs by drag and drop from Signalpath list or Matrix View (2).
Navigate to Attributes (1) and make optional settings (2). Note that the listed Attributes may differ depending on the vsmStudio version and on which version the configuration file was created.
Here the listed Attributes (2) if creating a new ImageVideo (Penta) Communication Port together with an up to date vsmStudio build. After setting values, finalize the Port setup with OK (3).
Here the listed Attributes (1) after an update from legacy vsmStudio build to latest vsmStudio build, on a system that already had an ImageVideo (Penta) Port configured before and which is currently offline. In the past some additional settings were part of the driver but have been removed a while ago. Still, since the old system configuration may still make use of these Attributes and Values, they are still as it was in the "legacy" system. (legacy in this regards means a very old version, e.g. vsmStudio builds around b1800...).
Once the communication port gets online the Attribute list will change like this (1). In vsmStudio builds prior to B2323, the GPO-Base Parameter was named Base-Outputs and GPO-Size was named Outputs. Therefore, after establishing a valid Protocol connection via the ImageVideo (Penta) driver again, the previously set values are automatically merged to the new Attributes.
