macOS Tahoe 26 is supported.
- macOS 15.2 provides a Bugfix for the Audio Driver Kit, which increases the overall performance and is highly recommended to use.
- When updating the Audio Driver a restart of the System is recommended.
No Audio after Sleep State
Since macOS 15.4 there is a possibility that audio is not handed over after a sleep state of the mac. This is currently under investigation and is related to the OS. Audio is shown within VSC, but not handed over to the application via the Audio Device. A restart is required.
Enhancements
Support of 256 Audio Channels
256 Channels are now available, when operating in 48 kHz
Only works in 48 kHz in combination with four 64 Channels Streams in and out.
Improved PTP sync and followup message parsing
In certain situations, PTP sync and followup messages were not evaluated.
SSM Option within Menu
SSM (IGMP v3) can now be activated in the menu to send source IP in multicast join.
Reinit NICs
The engine does no longer require a restart, if NICs are plugged during runtime. Closing and Reopening the settings will refresh the available NICs.
Improved Logging
Several new logging options for detailed analysis.
Improved Sending of SAP and MDNS messages
Transmission behaviour has been optimized.
Improved Logging
Several new logging informations for detailed analysis.
Improved performance for Environment Loading and Saving
Changes
Environment XML file potentially to large
The XML files grew potentially to large, due to wrong and unnecessary entries.
Extended Ringbuffer
The Ringbuffer size has been increased, as it was potentially too small when operating in 96 kHz.
This does not increase Latency.
Improved long-term stability
When operating 24/7, a chance was given for distorted audio after 55 to 60 hours.
Potential high CPU Load
The CPU load was potentially high, when starting Applications interacting with VSC first and then VSC.
Streams could not be send or received when using odd Streaming Ports
Streams have not been established, when using odd Ports.
SAP Hashes not unique
Chance was given, that two streams used the SAP hash.
Enhancements
CPU Load added to Logfiles
The CPU Load of the system is now written to the Logfile every minute.
Enhanced clock drift precision
The clock drift precision for engine and audio driver was improved and optimized.
Changes
Possibility for a crash of the audio driver when using large buffer sizes
The audio driver could crash if used by an application with large buffer sizes above 30 milliseconds.
Possibility for noise when using large amount of crosspoints
When using large amount of crosspoints, there was sometimes a chance that this would result in noise on the audio signals.
Using asymmetric configuration of Sender and Receivers could cause noise
When using Senders and Receivers were configured with different Sample per Frame or Stream Size values, it could result in noise on the audio signals.
Using 0 Channels for Send or Receive could result in a crash
VSC could crash on systems with Intel CPUs, if a Sender or Receiver was configured with 0 channels.
Information Pop Ups stopped working after updating to macOS 15.2
The small Information windows which pop up when hovering over the "I" stopped working after updating to macOS 15.2.
macOS Console showed lots of warnings after updating to macOS 15.2
After updating to macOS 15.2, the console would display warnings with the message "not allowed changes within view updates".
Update of several Libraries
The software libraries used for the HOME Service were updated.
