This topic describes how to open a project stored locally on your computer. For example, a project that you saved earlier or have received from the Lawo configuration team.

To open one of the standard configurations for Power Core, start by downloading the .db3 file from the Downloads area at www.lawo.com (after Login).

1.    Open the 'File Explorer' window, using one of the following methods.

  • Select File → Open from the main menus.
  • Click on theToolbar icon.
  • Press CTRL + O on your computer keyboard.

2.    Use the 'File Explorer' to select a valid configuration file.

By default, you will only see .db3 files (which is fine for all current systems).

If you wish to open an older configuration of the type .mdb, then change the option selected in the "file types" drop-down menu (above Open and Cancel)..

3.     Click on Open to open the project.

This can take a few seconds. During this time, the status is shown in the "progress" bar (below Console in the 'Project' window).

If the configuration was created using a different definition version, then you will be asked if you wish to convert the project - select Yes to continue.

If you see an error stating that the project is already open then navigate to the project folder (using Windows Explorer) and delete any "projectname.txt" files. Then try opening the file again.

4.    The project opens with the same workspace layout and docking options as at the last file save.

You can now edit the parameters in the usual manner.
