This topic describes how to transfer the Waves licenses to a different PC.

There are two possible methods: transfer from Waves Central OR from the local hard drive. In both cases, the licenses are transferred to a USB key.

Transfer licenses from Waves Central to USB KeyLink to Transfer licenses from Waves Central to USB Key

Please note: If the Waves products are not already installed, then this procedure installs them onto the target PC.

  • Open Waves Central and go to "Install Products".
  • Select "MY PRODUCTS".
  • Select all of the products.
  • Select "Choose" under "Target for Licences".
  • Select your USB key .
  • Select "Install & Activate".
  • Waves Central now installs the Waves products onto the target PC and activates the licences in the USB key.
  • If new products are installed, you will need to restart the PC.
  • Check that the licences are transferred to the USB key in the "Licences" menu.

Move licenses from Local Hard Drive to USB KeyLink to Move licenses from Local Hard Drive to USB Key

  • Connect a suitable USB key to the Waves Axis Scope PC.
  • Open Windows Explorer by pressing the Windows Key + E.
  • Select the USB key.
  • Right click and select "Format".
  • Insert a name of your choice for "Volume label" and click on "Start".
    Please note: The USB key can also be formatted in Ex-Fat.
  • Once the formatting is finished, click on "Close".
  • Start Waves Central and click on "Licences". 

    In this example, only one license is present in Waves Central.
  • Under "CONNECTED DEVICES", select "Local Disk C".
  • Click on "Choose".
  • Click on “Deactivate”.
  • Select your USB key and click on "Activate".
  • Waves Central now moves all of the licenses onto the USB key
  • Check that the licences are transferred to the USB key in the "Licences" menu.
